Terms of Service
The rules of the road for using Hanlyny — short, fair, and readable.

1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Hanlyny, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. The Service
Hanlyny is a platform for learning Chinese. We offer a free tier with daily limits and a paid Plus tier that unlocks all levels and unlimited practice. Features may change as we improve the product; we will let you know about material changes via email or in-app notice.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for anything that happens under your account. Use a real email address — we will need it for password resets and important notices. One person per account; don't share your login with others.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
Hanlyny Plus is a recurring subscription. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your Me page — the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. We do not offer partial-month refunds. If a charge fails, we may retry and will notify you. All payments are processed securely by Creem; we never handle your payment details directly.
5. Acceptable Use
Use Hanlyny to learn Chinese. Don't use it to break the law, harass others, reverse-engineer the app, scrape content, or resell access. If you misuse the service, we may suspend or terminate your account.
6. Intellectual Property
The Hanlyny name, logo, lesson content, illustrations, puzzle designs, and software are ours (or licensed to us) and protected by copyright. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from them. The progress data you generate by learning belongs to you — you can export it at any time.
7. Disclaimer
Hanlyny is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep the service up and accurate, but we don't guarantee that it will always be error-free, available, or that using it will produce a specific learning outcome.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hanlyny's liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email and give you at least 14 days' notice. Continuing to use Hanlyny after the changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
